The Influence of Individual Learning Styles on the Accumulation of Managerial Tacit Knowledge
This workshop will introduce different perspectives of learning and knowledge within organizations.
Participants will be introduced to Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory and will measure their own particular learning style.
Two recent studies concerned with the role of experiential learning on the acquisition of managerial tacit knowledge will be shared and explored as follows:
Study 1 is concerned with the role of experiential learning on the acquisition of managerial tacit knowledge.
Study 2 is concerned with anglo-expatriate managers learning, knowledge acquisition, and adjustment in multi-national companies in China.
Steven J. Armstrong is Professor of organizational behavior at Lincoln university and emeritus professor of hull university. He previously served in the positions of: President of the Management Education & Development Division of the US Academy of Management; Chief Editor of the International Journal of Management Reviews (Impact Factor 7.6); Chartered Engineer; Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He has published more than 50 SSCI articles/book chapters and 4 edited books in the field of management and organizational behavior.
